Student jobs
Student jobs, study jobs or student assistant, same thing with a different name and the confusion can be even greater when you look at what student jobs can contain. So let's clarify what a student job is.
What is a student job
A student job is a job that you have alongside your studies at upper secondary level, or in connection with a shorter or longer education, for example at bachelor's or master's level.
Since you can actually take a student job from the age of 18 until you finish your master's degree, this also means that the list of different types of student jobs is infinitely long.
For some students, a student job equals a student relevant job. For others, study jobs are similar to unskilled jobs that you may have next to your study, or in connection with a sabbatical year. This is more about just earning some money.
The value of a student job
When you are considering finding a student job, for example as a student assistant, or another relevant student job, it is not necessarily your hourly wage that is most important. That is not to say that you should just work for free. No, on the other hand, it is about being able to strengthen your CV and thereby have a greater chance of getting a good job after graduating, for example as a graduate.
As mentioned, a study job does not have to be relevant to your course. If you have an unskilled job, you also strengthen your CV by showing a future employer that you can both study and work at the same time. That is, you are not only a theorist, but can also use your hands even if you are an academic.
